My work focuses on the translation of German-language texts into English and the editing and production of English-language texts. I have over fifteen years of experience as a translator and editor. My primary clients are scholars in the humanities, university administrations throughout German-speaking Europe, public foundations, memorial sites, and museums. I also work for clients outside the humanities and social sciences, including automobile manufacturers, custom furniture designers, technology firms (software, telecommunications and CAD/CAM application designers), and firms specialized in learning and development for the private sector.
In my translation practice, I focus on precision, punctuality and professionalism. Precision means that the intended message of your German-language text comes through in a clear and comprehensible way to your English-language target audience. Punctuality means that I deliver your translation on the agreed delivery date. Professionalism means that I treat your text as I would my own: not just as a presentation of ideas, arguments and information, but also as a textual product that represents you and your institution to the outside world.
Please contact me if you would like to discuss a potential project. I am always on the lookout for interesting work. And if I happen to be fully booked when your inquiry comes in, I belong to a large informal network of professional translators (who also translate from and into different languages) and can help you locate a language expert who can assist you.
